This is my 3 year old (15 year old in dog years) dog. Her name is Hope. She is a Puggle (Half Beagle, Half Pug). We got her at a PetsMart in Liberty, Missouri. She's gotten used to our home. We just adopted another little Puggle but a little puppy kind. His names Lucky. I'll post a video about him also. Anyway, we plan for BOTH of the dogs to live good lives and have some fun in their lives, too. : )

THE gunman responsible for the Los Angeles Christmas Eve massacre abandoned his escape plan and committed suicide after the blaze he started set fire to his Santa suit, melting the costume on to his body. Unemployed aerospace worker Bruce Pardo wore a Santa Claus suit as he took revenge on his ex-wife and her family, killing at least nine people in the attack. Police said Pardo had strapped $17,000 to his body and had a plane ticket to Canada but sADVERTISEMENThot himself after suffering third-degree burns as parts of the Santa suit fused to his flesh. Meanwhile, a horrific first-hand account of Pardo's killing spree has emerged in a tape recording of an emergency call to police. A woman, believed to be the killer's sister-in-law, escaped to a neighbour's house and dialled 911. Cradling her terribly injured daughter, who had been shot in the face, the woman tells police: "He's shooting my whole family." Police believe the 45-year-old killer intended to take revenge on his former wife, who he recently divorced, and her family as they gathered for a Christmas party. Armed with four guns, wearing the Santa suit and carrying a fuel-spraying device wrapped like a present, Pardo turned up at the home at 11.30pm on Wednesday as the gathering of 25 people was in full swing. Pardo fired a shot into the face of an eight-year-old girl who answered the door. Police said she suffered terrible injuries but is expected to survive. Pardo then fired further apparently indiscriminate shots before reportedly targeting relatives of his ex-wife as other guests fled. "There's some information that he stood over them and shot them execution-style," said police chief Kim Raney. Pardo retreated to the front door and retrieved a device that mixed carbon dioxide or oxygen with high-octane racing fuel, police said. Fleeing guests saw him spraying the fuel inside the house before it exploded. "Mr Pardo was severely injured during that explosion," Raney said. "He suffered third-degree burns on both arms and it also appears that the Santa Claus suit that he was wearing did melt onto his body." A survivor of the shooting frantically begged a 911 operator for help as she hid in a neighbour's house. "He's still shooting out there," the woman sobbed in the tape released by police. "He's shooting my whole family. My mom's house is on fire." The caller was at the party but escaped to a nearby home after Pardo barged in and opened fire. "I have a feeling I know who it is," she said, and identified the shooter as her former brother-in-law. She told the operator that Pardo came to the door dressed in a Santa suit, started shooting and "everyone started panicking and running", diving under the dining room table to hide. Asked who was at the party, the woman said there were at least 25 people in the house. She listed her husband and two daughters, nephews, nieces and a girlfriend. "That's half my family," she cried. "We can't allow him to come into this house. We've got to lock all the doors," she said. Her daughter had been shot in the side of the face and was bleeding. After the attack, Pardo was able to drive to his brother's home in the Sylmar area of Los Angeles, broke in and shot himself in the head. Before the suicide, Pardo used remnants of the Santa suit to booby-trap his rental car to explode, the chief said. Raney said Pardo wired the suit so that when it was lifted it "would pull a tripwire or a switch, ignite a flare inside the car that would then ignite black powder, and he had several hundred rounds of handgun ammunition inside the car". The device went off as a bomb squad worked to disarm it on Thursday, but no one was hurt. The fire at the house was so intense that no bodies have been identified, but police said all were Pardo's former relatives. The nine victims range in age from 17 to 80. When the fire was extinguished early on Thursday, officers found three charred bodies in the living room area. Investigators found five more bodies amid the ashes later in the day, while a ninth body was found on Friday morning. Police said Pardo had no criminal record or history of violence, and neighbours said they knew him as a friendly man who walked his dog and was a volunteer usher at his parish church. Court records show Pardo's ex-wife Sylvia Pardo, 43, filed for a dissolution of marriage on March 24, 2008, and they were legally separated after about two years of marriage. The two reached a settlement on December 18. Pardo owed her $10,000 as part of the settlement, according to court documents that detailed a bitter split.

Once again, I did not have the time to send out cards this year, so I decided to reverse the role and have all of you come to my website for the holidays. But this year, I went super Internet-technie and added by video greeting. Very Web 2.0 of me! This year (2007) has been exciting, intriguing and filled with new adventure. My travels took me to Asia (Beijing), New York, Las Vegas, San Diego, and Denver. I was offered a position in Denver which would have required me to relocate. However, the employer is still firmly entrenched in 1997 and although the package was impressive, I concluded that my style did not meet there method of doing business. When I suggested that I work remotely from San Francisco, you would have thought a UFO had invaded Denver. Too far out of the box for them and honestly, I knew if I tore up roots here in SF and moved to Denver, I would only be packing up again within two years. That is not desirable for me and I declined the offer. I spent five days in Beijing, China this past January, representing my old colleague and close friend Sing Cheungs publishing services business as a sales and marketing consultant. The experience was great (The Great Wall is amazing) but doing business with Chinese publishers continues to be a challenge from an economic and cultural perspective. The irons are still in the fire, but movement is slow. I am presently serving as a marketing consultant with a publishing company in NYC. The company is the exclusive publisher of NASA technology releases. Very technical content but still interesting. NASA comes up with some great stuff - the latest technology of interest is having soldiers put on a cape and become invisible in the battlefield. Sounds like the cartoons of the 70s. The resume writing business that I operate is getting bigger and more successful by the day. The business operates in a highly competitive marketplace, which works to my advantage because there are so many sleazy operators on the Internet that my marketing and final product dwarfs any of their output. Hope it stays that way. The extra income allows me to travel and live a comfortable life style. And yes, I am still involved with the Golden State Warriors (15 seasons and going strong) as a statistician for the teams radio broadcast. The playoffs were fantastic and this season has started off strong. I am also working with other NBA teams when they pass through northern California. The NFL is now part of the mix and I would like it to become a bigger percentage of the hobby that I started because I thought my buddy Greg Papa wanted to go drinking one night in October 1993 and instead needed my help courtside for a GSW game. Who would have thought On the personal front, I still looking to meet the right gal (no, not Annabella Lew - Joyce and Emmons daughter - but she will be my new chick magnet). I was dating someone from September to November but I had a hard time getting over some of her idiosyncrasies (not personality defects lets just different philosophies on life,liberty, health and family). But I remain firm in my stance that I am ready to find the right gal. (If you know her, send her my way!). Otherwise, I have been trying to stay in shape, spending time with friends and enjoying SF. I have been contemplating a move to the Oakland Hills or Walnut Creek, but that seems to be an annual thing for me these days. For now, I will stay put in the Marina. I have a great place with great views and many conveniences. The positives certainly outweigh the negatives. My brother Michael is doing well. He started an asset management firm that focuses on municipal bonds. His returns far exceed the industry indexes and he works from home (no more NYC commute). He has a new dog (Bodie another Lab) and is still chasing chicks, just like me. Next year, I plan on getting in even better shape (including bikram yoga), skiing as often as possible (I did not ski this year but I am planning a ski trip to Taos, NM), and perhaps getting back to voice-over classes. Also plan to travel somewhere new again this year, whether it is Vietnam and Taiwan (to visit my old friend Frank Fasce) or Argentina. OK, enough about me!
